Library Gamer

Just came across this blog on The Shifted Librarian. Although it's US-oriented there's some good stuff about using board games for educational purposes in schools and libraries. http://librarygamer.wordpress.com/

Podcamp!

I learned a lot from Podcamp Gold Coast 2010. It was great to go along for a number of reasons. Firstly it was good to learn more about Web 2.0 technologies and get more of a handle on things that I had touched on through The Joneses. For example, the RSS feeds were something I really hadn't used again, but at Podcamp, Kate and Peta demonstrated through Google Reader and since I have a Google account already it is sooo easy to flick between my mail and my igoogle and my rss feeds. I also learned more about ebooks and podcasting.
Secondly it was good to see how the event was organised. As an Unconference, it had a flexible and interactive structure that worked really well. It was all about sharing experiences and information.
Finally the people were fantastic to meet and to hear about their experiences.

Podcamp

I am looking forward to attending Podcamp at Broadbeach Library on the Gold Coast. Hopefully I will learn some more about social media.
